Raspberry Pi 3 released

The newest version of the Raspberry Pi has just been released. The raspberry Pi 3 brings with it an upgraded processor, Wifi onboard as well as a few other tweaks and enhancements.

The new processor is again from Broadcom and boasts 4 x ARM Cortex-A53 cores – each capable of 1.2GHz (this is up from the previous Broadcom CPU on the Raspberry 2 which could only muster 900Mhz from 2 cores). The inclusion of Wireless onboard will probably be the biggest draw for people wondering whether to upgrade or not. Another update is support for Bluetooth version 4.1.

Physically, there really isn’t any difference with the new Raspberry Pi 3 compared to the Raspberry Pi 2, so any of the current cases and accessories for the older version will be compatible with the new one.
